What villain actually had a point?

Let's be pragmatic.
In one of the instances, Chatur challenges the 3 protagonists that few years later they'll meet to see who's more successful and who's not.
They do meet after 5–10 years. Chatur is happily married with a villa and car, but what about Raju and Farhan?
They're both successful too, but not as much as Chatur. Farhan is a successful writer and photographer, and Raju is a successful engineer. Well that's what we can make out from the interior of his house.
So basically, Chatur is successful. Let's not forget how the main protagonist Rancho mocked Chatur in the movie for mugging up his books and made fun of him saying he would reach nowhere in life.
Chatur is shown as a nerd who only mugged up his books. He wasn't the topper of his class, but he was never 3rd.
If we see thing from his perspective, we see that he was a competitor. He was raised in Uganda where Hindi is very uncommon. He always stood in front of the crowd. Raised his hands the highest He would sit in the first row of the class. And he, not knowing Hindi well, still took a Hindi speech so that he could make his teachers proud. On the other hand Rancho edited his speech to make a point to his friend, Raju ( not to mug). Chatur was ridiculed in front of the whole college. That was enough to ignite a flame of competition with all those 3. Had Rancho not edited his speech, Chatur would never have challenged them. He was doing fine in college and was able to come second. He didn't cry a sob story in front of the interviewers to gain sympathy like Raju. He was always clear that he wanted to become an engineer. He got a job and nailed it, that's how he was in a high post.
On the other hand Rancho who supported his friend Farhan to take up photography, even though he had wasted 3 years already doing engineering, is the same guy who ridiculed Kareena's fiance who worked in a bank even though he was a graduated engineer. He even mocked him for doing MBA. Hypocrisy at its highest. What if Kareena's fiance too didn't understand engineering? What if he too like Farhan had a dream to work in a bank?

Now coming to the point where we're comparing Rancho's success with that of Chatur.
Rancho was way more successful than Chatur. No argument. Rancho loved his job, so did Chatur. Rancho may be making more than Chatur, but Chatur didn't seem disappointed with his salary either. So what's wrong with that? Why is Chatur shown as a failure in front of Rancho? Because he couldn't achieve as much as Rancho?
In one instance of the movie we see how Farhan tells his father that he would rather earn less, have a smaller house, have a smaller car, but most importantly he would be HAPPY with his job.
Wasn't Chatur HAPPY?
In my opinion, Chatur wasn't even the villain in this movie. But the way he's portrayed has miserably caused a negative impact on the minds of the youth. Because at one point of the movie you're telling the audience that success is not all about big house and big cars, success is about being happy at what you love to do. And at another point in the movie you make fun of someone who's less successful.
Chatur was mocked, yet he succeeded.
Thanks for reading.
